MIA – Jameel Winston will be out two weeks due to a torn labral tear, according to the Miami Dolphins’ medical staff.
The team announced Wednesday that Winston, who is on injured reserve with a torn ACL, is out for “a minimum of two weeks.”
The team is still monitoring Winston’s progress and will announce the timeline when he returns.
“We’re hoping he gets back as soon as possible, but we’ll see how it goes,” Dolphins defensive end Chris Jones said.
“It’s a little bit of a roller coaster.
We’ll have to wait and see.”
The Dolphins announced Wednesday Winston, the NFL’s MVP, had suffered a torn ligament in his right knee during the second quarter of Sunday’s 35-31 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
He returned to the game in the second half but left with a right shoulder injury.
Winston was the Dolphins’ MVP last season and was selected to the Pro Bowl last season.
He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight season.
The Dolphins also announced Wednesday they have placed center Max Unger on injured reserved and placed running back Mike Gillislee on the non-football injury list with a knee injury.
Unger was placed on injured leave by the team earlier this month.
The NFL said it would “evaluate the medical history and medical evaluation” of the players on the list.
“As a precautionary measure, we are reducing the roster on the active roster and the PUP list,” the league said in a statement.
